  2. Advice on Reading 21 items
    1. Set text 1 item
      1. The human web: a bird's-eye view of world history - McNeill, John Robert, McNeill, William H. c2003

Book Suggested for student purchase This is the set text for this module. There will be readings most weeks from this source and I would strongly recommend that you buy and read it through even though it is not exclusively focused on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

    2. Additional texts 20 items
There are many other world histories, again none of them focusing only on the past two centuries that provide a useful complement to the McNeill volume. Take a look at these too. You will always need, however, to supplement your reading each week by looking at works that treat specifically with the topic in hand.
